ShowCompetent Cells include Control DNA and Recovery Medium, and are packaged as DUOs (2 transformations per tube) or FIVERs (5 transformations per tube), as indicated. Recovery Medium is also available separately. The specified transformation efficiencies are with pUC DNA, unless indicated otherwise.

Product information
We offer two bacterial strains designed for BAC library construction or transformation of large constructs:
BAC-Optimised Replicator™ v2.0 Electrocompetent Cells (> 1 × 1010 cfu/µg pKanR DNA). These cells are required for on-demand, copy number amplification of the pSMART® BAC or pEZ™ BAC vectors in the CopyRight® Kits, thereby increasing DNA yields. BAC-Optimised Replicator Cells are components of Biosearch Technologies Cloning Kits
E. cloni 10G BAC-Optimised Electrocompetent Cells (> 1 × 107 cfu/µg 150 kb BAC DNA; > 1 × 1010 cfu/µg pUC DNA). The first competent cells developed specifically for large DNA cloning. Manufactured using a novel procedure that maximises transformation efficiencies with very large inserts, 10G BAC-Optimised Cells are an excellent choice for BAC library construction and large construct transformation.
